The Institute through the Centre is tasked with the mandate for the sales of Published National, other foreign National and International Standards to all interested organizations, companies, individuals including the general public all over Papua New Guinea. The Centre facilitates both over the counter sales and also provides ordering facilities for International Standards (ISO, IEC, etc), Other Foreign National Standards (AS, ANZS, BS,) and Papua New Guinea National Standards (PNGS). All Standards for sales purposes have being categorized against standard price codes for which the regular sales price is set accordance by the Institute. All approved prices are fixed and applied accordingly on all the standards sold at the Institute.
i.) Over the Counter Sales
The Centre facilitates over-the-counter sales through purchase of Standards at NISIT Office. This can be done for either single or bulk purchase of standards and is effected straight at the time of purchase with the availability of stock at hand. Often the purchase and delivery can be conducted over a day or two pending stock control, clearance and delivery arrangements. Over the counter sales can also be effected through a personal basis here at NISIT Office.
ii.) Sales & Postal/Air Freight Delivery Services (Clients outside Port Moresby)
The Centre facilitates sales and delivery of Standards through air freight services or through postal services for clients outside Port Moresby. Clients will be advised on the total costs of the arrangement which includes postage and handling. Delivery of postage is dependent upon the local carrier services throughout rand around Papua New Guinea. However, all clients are encouraged to notify NISIT upon receipt of the sent postage items.
iii.) Overseas Ordering Facilities Arrangement
The Centre also facilitates Standards sales purchases through overseas ordering facility arrangements with our sister counter-parts for stocks not readily available at the Institute. The arrangement allows for the purchase to be effected by the client concerned through the processes are effected over a period of between 14-30 days. Postage and handling costs are included in the invoice for the whole processes. Overseas arrangements are facilitated through renowned courier services operating here and abroad for ease of convenience, reliance and efficiency.
Sales of Other Standards-Related Products
The Centre also aids in the facilitation of the sales of other Standards–related products. In general, these include other publications related to standards. These may include CD-ROMs, Videos, Guides, Hand Books, Compendiums, etc. which mostly are part of the publication products by other Foreign National Standards Bodies. At present, these products are sold by NISIT through its overseas facilitation arrangement and are limited to those published or produced by Standards Australia. Quotations and invoices are subsequently provided for effecting sales purchase.
The Centre also provides a more-customer incentive-based service for anyone interested in joining the subscription services arrangement here at the Institute. Under the subscription services, it is at present offering only limited bonus packages and other additional incentives relating to sales purchase arrangements. A general set of conditional requirements apply to all interested subscribers. Anyone either individual or corporate can become subscribers to NISIT Subscriber Services. Examples include Individuals, Manufacturers, Consultants, Contractors, Product and Service Businesses and Government Departments. In general, anyone who would want to benefit directly from the services offered here at NISIT with added incentives can apply to become a member.
All registered subscribers will be notified of the scope and extent of the subscription services offered by NISIT upon registration. Subscription fees will have to be paid for activation. Once becoming a member, Terms and Conditions for subscribers apply. Subscription fees are for annual subscription only and subject to renewal on annual basis.
